54 Kick Ass Creative Logos Hand-Picked from Logofaves
- 1950s - 1970s Advertising
Being a child of the 1970s this appeals to me tremendously. Some of it is a little before my time but it’s still awesome. More nostalgia here
- Swedish BVD makes sexy stuff
Package design done right. Stunning work by BVD
- Hotel Fox Copenhagen
Spent this past weekend in Copenhagen with Mrs Barrett, we stayed at Hotel Fox which was an amazing experience. This was our room, wasn’t quite as tense as they would have you believe. Highly recommended!
- Too right
They really should post messages on the back of tube tickets
- Popup by Marion Bataille
Genius
- M&M Red
The Art Direction here makes me think of Shepard Fairey. But it’s still great and the blue one is pretty cool too.
- Pantone Autumn
Stuff like this just has to make design geeks smile
- Letraset
Letraset reminds me of how old I am. Young designers today don’t have to deal with the frustration of a Letraset transfer peeling and thereby screwing up a mock-up one’s worked on for hours.
Old-school clip-art FTW.
- Michael Bierut
After watching the Helvetica documentary most of the people I saw it with were amused by the rants of the legendary Eric Spiekermann. Personally I was facinated by the passion of Michael Bierut. He’s written a book called 79 Short Essays on Design which he talks about here
- History of design
Found this amazing collection of graphic design history on Flickr. So much goodness in one place it’s unreal.
The piece above is from the Roman Cieslewicz set.
- The Robots are coming
How to survive a Robot Uprising looks like an amusing read. But, to be honest, I just really like the cover.
It might actually be wise to be prepared for the rebellion, considering the sheer number of gadgets and machines surrounding me at any one time.
Oh god, the NAS server just whispered something to the PS3 […]
- London’s Kerning
Lovely stuff over at Blanka. This poster is £100, which is pretty steep, but that hasn’t stopped it from turning into an object of my desire. Perhaps a Christmas present to myself is in order.
